Laminate Racks

Evans Midwest laminate racks are an essential component of the panel layup process, designed to stage high pressure laminate (HPL) and backer sheets directly above the layup table. By keeping laminate material organized, supported, and immediately accessible, laminate racks reduce handling time, improve ergonomics, and help operators maintain consistent production flow.

Evans Midwest laminate racks can be used as free-standing units with existing layup equipment or fully integrated with Evans Midwest layup tables to create a cohesive, efficient laminating work cell. Each system is engineered for durability and smooth operation in both low-volume and high-production environments.

Our Laminate Racks

LR4700E - Electric Laminate Rack
LR4700P Pneumatic Laminate Rack

The core Evans Midwest laminate rack offering is an electric powered rack with controlled in-and-out motion, designed to precisely present laminate and backer sheets during the layup process. These systems utilize a steel frame construction with floor-mounted guiding rails and top and bottom support arms to safely hold two stacks of material.

Powered laminate racks are driven by an electric motor with variable frequency control, allowing adjustable speed and smooth acceleration for consistent material positioning. Foot pedal and push-button controls enable hands-free operation, while integrated safety features help protect operators during daily production.

Electric laminate racks are ideal for:

  • High-volume panel and countertop laminating
  • Operations focused on ergonomics and repeatability
  • Integrated layup table systems requiring consistent material presentation

These systems support large laminate sizes and heavy stack weights, making them well-suited for demanding industrial applications .

For facilities where floor space is limited, Evans Midwest also offers a pneumatic laminate rack that utilizes a pivoting arm design. This configuration allows laminate and backer sheets to be stored closer to a wall or work cell and pivoted into position when needed for layup.

Heavy-duty air cylinders control the lifting and tilting motion of the support arms, providing controlled movement while reducing the overall footprint of the rack. Pneumatic laminate racks are commonly mounted directly to layup tables or secured to the floor, making them a practical solution for compact production areas.

Pneumatic racks are well-suited for:

  • Space-constrained shops
  • Retrofit applications
  • Lower to moderate production volumes seeking simple operation

While more compact, these racks still maintain proper laminate separation and accessibility during the layup process.

Designed for Integration & Customization

Evans Midwest laminate racks are designed to work seamlessly within a complete laminating system. Whether paired with layup tables, glue spreaders, or presses, each rack can be configured to match laminate size, stroke length, electrical requirements, and production workflow.

By staging laminate and backer sheets exactly where operators need them, Evans Midwest laminate racks help improve efficiency, consistency, and safety throughout the panel layup process—supporting scalable production today and future automation tomorrow.
