SCS 1000 SIP Spline Cutting Saw

The SCS 1000 SIP Spline Cutting Saw is a purpose-built solution for high-accuracy, repeatable spline cutting in structural insulated panels (SIPs). Designed and manufactured by Choice Machinery Group / Evans Midwest, the SCS 1000 automates consecutive horizontal cuts on full 4’ × 8’ panels, minimizing operator intervention while maintaining consistent cut quality.

Built around a welded structural steel frame, the SCS 1000 features a servo-controlled positioning system and a precision resaw bandsaw mounted on a linear-rail saw carriage. Panels are supported on a heavy-duty roller infeed bed and indexed automatically for each cut, allowing the operator to load a panel, initiate the cycle, and let the machine complete the full cutting sequence. Finished spline parts are swept back with the saw motion and can be directed to downstream handling or accumulation systems.

The resaw is equipped with hydraulic blade tensioning, pressure monitoring, and variable-speed control up to 5,000 FPM tip speed. Integrated amperage monitoring provides real-time feedback on blade condition to support consistent performance and preventative maintenance. All machine functions are controlled through a pedestal-mounted HMI, with full safety guarding, interlocks, and emergency stop circuitry.

Designed for SIP manufacturers requiring accuracy, throughput, and repeatability, the SCS 1000 handles panels up to 96" long, 48" wide, and 12" thick, with horizontal cut depths from 0.5" to 4". Rear service access, centralized dust collection, and a compact footprint make the system well-suited for production environments focused on efficiency and reliability.
