Countertop Postforming Machines
Evans Midwest postforming systems are engineered for precise, repeatable forming of high-pressure laminate countertop edges. Designed for feed-through production environments, our postformers deliver consistent heat, pressure, and forming control to produce high-quality 90° and 180° profiles across a wide range of materials and edge designs.
From compact machines for small to mid-size shops to heavy-duty, multi-shift production systems, Evans Midwest postformers are built to match your throughput, profile complexity, and automation requirements. Each system is configurable for single- or double-sided operation and engineered to reduce setup time while maintaining superior edge quality.

SF2000 Standard Form
UF2000 Ultraform
Evans Midwest postforming machines feature rugged mechanical construction, precision transport systems, and advanced heating and forming technology. Heavy-duty chain drives, adjustable upper hold-down beams, and modular forming and compression roller assemblies ensure consistent laminate flow and uniform edge forming.
Standard features may include infrared heating, PVA adhesive edge spray systems, quick-change forming tooling, and integrated trimming and slitting options. PLC-controlled operation and optional automated positioning systems allow manufacturers to minimize changeover time, reduce labor, and achieve repeatable results in high-volume countertop production.
How Postforming Works
Evans Midwest postforming machines use a controlled, step-by-step process to form durable, high-quality laminate countertop edges with precision and repeatability.
The process begins with infeed trimming, where the laminate and substrate are machined to accurate 90° or 180° profiles. This ensures proper alignment and consistent edge geometry before forming.
Next, adhesive application applies a uniform layer of adhesive to the edge of the core and laminate, creating a strong, long-lasting bond. The laminate is then heated using infrared heaters, bringing it to the optimal forming temperature for smooth, controlled bending without cracking or surface defects.
During the forming stage, precision forming and compression rollers shape the heated laminate tightly around the core, producing clean, consistent 90° or 180° profiles. Controlled pressure and alignment ensure excellent edge definition and bond integrity.
Finally, outfeed trimming removes excess laminate and finishes the edge, delivering a clean, accurate profile ready for downstream operations or final assembly.
Evans Midwest postforming systems are designed to integrate seamlessly with countertop cutting and laminating operations, providing a complete, efficient solution for high-quality countertop production.
